The goal of the adult education program at Colby Community College is to assist learners in making measurable gains in acquiring the skills necessary for success in today's world. Colby Community College is committed to providing students with the opportunity for quality education and instruction. The program offers a variety of courses designed to help fulfill your educational goals. Adult education services are available for anyone at least 16 years of age and not currently enrolled in school.

The GED is a goal for many students as they realize it is a path to employment and/or a better job, the beginning of continued education, a way to increase potential income, and a positive step in raising self esteem.

Adult learners will have the opportunity for:

  • Free instruction
  • Instruction in reading, writing, and math
  • Application of everyday life skills
  • Technology basics
  • Money management and financial literacy
  • Workplace essential skills - preparation for employment
  • Instruction for the Kansas High School Diploma (GED)
  • Small group or individualized instruction
  • Accommodations for learners with disabilities
